The story behind the picture:

Several universities have a shoe tree on campus with graduated students’ shoes hung on it as a tradition of showing their proud completion of the degree. 

The picture taken by Lindsey at the end of 2011 shows the shoe tree at the University of Minnesota. Base color white commonly used for ceramic mugs was left as the original background for the mug as a whole as a complete feeling of the seasonal combination with snow. A distinctive aspect of her picture is the connection between the past and future represented by the stems of the tree and the large empty space on the mug, which represents the authentic non-itemed future for every shoe's owner to define.
